In
reflecting on the past nine months since we undertook your business coaching we
are amazed at how much we have achieved and improved.
We
were a little apprehensive at the prospect of engaging a business consultant as
we had been trading in our business for ten years. We were already time poor
and wondered if this would add to our already tight schedule. We also wondered
what else we needed to know after ten years in business but it is surprising
how someone looking in from outside can paint a different picture, and help to
freshen things up.
Working
through the Clarity Planning was an eye-opener for us and brought a few things
to our attention which needed to be seen to, such as our Company structure and
our insurance which was inadequate. These were things which we were aware of
but just kept putting off. Having someone else point it out makes it more
urgent.
We
had also been thinking of implementing a new point of sale system. Having to
provide you with data which took us weeks to provide due to an inadequate
system prompted us to act upon that. We will now have adequate reporting and
have a much better idea of the products that are working best for us, what the
profit margin is plus a lot more.
Your
tips and advice on personnel have been invaluable. We already had Work
Agreements in place for our staff but realize how inadequate they were once you
showed us how detailed it needs to be. We also found we didn’t have a clear picture
of the staff we should be attracting. Choosing the right staff has been an
issue for us in the past. Once we put your system in place on creating our
letter gauge, we find that we are making better choices on who should join our
team.
Having
a clear direction for marketing has been something that we were also lacking.
In the past the advertising had been left up to just one of us. Now knowing
that “marketing” does not necessarily mean paid advertising, and with your
help, we have a twelve month plan in place! It is no longer left up to one
person as we have engaged the help of a team member who loves marketing.
While
we are experts in our field we are not experts at running a business. Now that
we have a team who are competent it is time for us to step back and work more
on our business. Giving each team member a specific niche has improved their
morale and feeling of self worth. This is reflected in the sales growth that we
have achieved this year- a whopping 36%.This far outweighs the cost of the
program which we have found to be eye-opening and beneficial not only to us but
to our team.
